The Miss West Africa 2009 after party was the place to be at, with Nigerian super star Timaya live in action. The event was put together courtesy of Champ Entertainment and West Coast Ents. Shireen Benjamin, Aminat Salami, Yewande Abiodun and Ercilia Lopez were also present. More pictures to come!

Shireen Benjamin, MWA 09, will be making her first public appearance at the Gamboots Christmas fundraiser on monday 30th November 2009. All proceeds of this fundraiser go towards helping grassroots projects for impoverished children in South Africa. Miss West Africa will be presenting an award on the night. We encourage everyone to join us on this wonderful night and make xmas a great one for everybody. There will be great performances on the night by Kakastisti (rocking traditional Ghanaian drummers), Njabulo Madlala (South African Opera Singer) and the African children's Choir. Shireen Benjamin was swarmed by the public right after winning Miss West Africa 2009 on the 27th of November 2009, she was sashed my Andrea Katou, the current Mr England, and crowned by her predecessor Amina Kamara, Miss West Africa 2008. 1st Runner up was Aminat Salami who won the judges and crowd support in her traditional wear appearrance, and 2nd runner up was aspiring model Yewande Abiodun. All the other pageants had great highlights, and look to see them at the after party on saturday. Good night.

The pageants (Ercilia, Michelle, Shireen, Yewande, Fatou & Grace) today appeared on Voice of Africa radio 94.3fm with DJ Nana. They had a great time and highlighted their concerns for the west African region, as well as putting a smile on the serious face of Nana. Today the girls had a fun day visiting Yvette Gate, a young Gambian born child, who sufferers from a condition called aplastic anaemia. This results to her bone marrow is not producing the cells her body needs and she is in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant. The pageants established a friendly bond with her, her mother and her family, and discussed life issues with Yvette as well as guaranteeing her their support and friendship after the event.
Good news and bad news, the good news is there are still a few remaining V.I.P. Tickets left, however there has been a slight increase with the price for V.I.P. tickets. V.I.P. tickets can still be bought at £30 with seating and voting rights, however it is now £35 with food.
Despite a few delays and problems at the Beffta awards, the event took place and proved to be a great night. What was most important is that the Miss West Africa girls were looking their best on the night it was unbelieveable, event better than most of the guests....oops :D.

We would like to congratulate all those that participated in Miss West Africa, after a search down from 2,104 applications, 21 girls have now been filtered down to the last 14 finalists. Your votes will contribute to their popularity score. Click ahead to view the results.
After an intensed vigrious voting effort by our beautiful pageants, only but 14 girls will proceed into the finals. Finalists names will be revieled on Sunday.
